Paruzal Games, the Denver-based, live-hosted, online escape room company will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its founding on March 16, 2021. The company was launched as the COVID-19 pandemic sent people indoors and the demand for fun, online activities to play during quarantine, suddenly peaked. It was one of the first online escape rooms to hit the market and since that time has helped families, groups, schools, and corporations get through this challenging year.
Recently, one of Paruzals most popular puzzles, Pizza Makes Anything Possible, was awarded the Best Puzzle Design of The Year by ESCAPETHEROOMers, a top escape room review site. In the puzzle, players find themselves suddenly working in a pizzeria that their boss has unexpectedly left them in charge of. The goal of the game is to open the shop in time for customers by finding clues and solving puzzles before the clock runs out. The game was awarded tops honors in ESCPAETHEROOMers Annual Bullseye Awards for its clever challenges, complex set-up, and unique storyline.
Were honored that our game has been recognized for its creative design elements, said Paruzal Founder and CEO, James Warner. My wife Elyssa and I never imagined Paruzal would take off and become such a success. Were proud knowing that our games and puzzles have entertained people stuck in quarantine, helping them pass the time with fun, engaging, social, and thought-provoking challenges.
Over the past year, Paruzal has been recognized multiple times as one of the best virtual escape room companies for small groups and families. The puzzles have been enjoyed by hundreds of players from around the world. In addition, Paruzal has been recognized by numerous groups and organizations, from Library Journal, which recognized Paruzal for their safe, family-friendly puzzles, to Craft Brewing Business, which recognized a special beer night promotion that paired puzzles with craft beers at Denvers River North Brewery.
Our first year in business has taught us that theres a much larger, diverse, and passionate audience for fun escape room puzzles than we originally thought, said Warner. From schools to corporations to gamers and non-gamers alike, Paruzal games have something for everyone.
In the last year, Paruzal has published eight different games, partnered with several local businesses to host events like a virtual escape-room pizza party, and even helped one of their players tie the knot by hosting an online escape room wedding proposal.
Paruzal is now offering a number of new services including custom game writing, corporate team building events, gift certificates, and online party hosting. With many things to come in the next year, Paruzal Games plans to continue breaking barriers with their exciting dimension of gameplay for individuals or groups.
